Hi dudes,
I have a 1.4GLS Auto and the ole speedo cable has kicked the bucket. Anyway, picked up a replacement but the problem is... I can't figure out where about on the engine it gets fitted!
So the car has this highly attractive bog-standard Ecotec engine:
And if we go to the drivers side....
And remove that pesky airbox and piping... down behind the alternator is the Speedo cable!
BUT... here's the problem. I've tried tracing the cable but it goes down behine the engine. So I popped the old girl up on ramps and had a mooch underneath, but couldn't find it!
So my query is... where the hell does the cable connect up and what the flip do I need to pull apart to access it?!
Any and all help is muchos appreciated folks!

easy job that first remove your clocks and check it is the cable thats broke as you are going to need them out anyway next take the battery off, if your car has a bolt in battery tray remove that then look down on the top of the gearbox towards the back near enough above the driveshafts and there it is . if the cable has broken just replace the inner as you have to take half the car to bits to change the full cable

Thanks for the swift response dude!
I'm 99.9% sure it is trhe cable. Speedo, mileage etc are all dead but fuel and engine temp gauge work alright. Had the same problem on another corsa but had a garage fix that one.
I'll have a mooch as soon as my long reach 13mm socket arrives (damn battery plate)
