Corsa B 1.0l 12v engine ticking

Post by Sanandreas21 »

I have had a problem with my car where when i am running my car for a certain distance there becomes a ticking noise from somewhere in the engine. I have recently noticed that the noise starts to come quicker when im in the speeds of 70 - 80 mph.

Anybody know what the noise could be as i have been told it could be the fuel injectors but it sounds like its coming from the alternator.

P.s. The higher the revs are the faster the ticking it, not really a problem its just really annoying driving along and you've got a loud ticking noise coming from your engine.

Thanks

Hi, Brother ran the scanner and it came back as 2 things; mass flow meter and the crank shaft.
Hope this helps

mechnical knowledge not need here:lol:  commense sense tells you that 2 little sensors arent gona make a loud ticking noise that can be herd over the engine and its more likely to be the timeing chain. it explains why he fort it was the altinator and why it get loader the faster he goes :-P

if its not very loud it could be an injector? if engine is muti point i can't remember.

has it been well serviced?

you get no crack shaft senser fault show up on snappy comps if engine isn't running, we have found on some vauxhalls
if the crank shaft sensers go on the 3cly engines they are a pain in the ass to start changed one a few months back real easyt to do just one 8mm bolt uts just above the passanger side drive shaft. dont buy a cheap one though as i ended up chasnging it twice :shy:
