engine light

engine lite was coming on , revs dropping and car juddering at low revs. i since blanked off egr valve took the battery off over night put it bak on this morning the car runs better apart from low revs i think thats the icv i will clean it. I also noticed today that the engine lite comes on mostly wen i put my lights on then the engine light comes on the fuel gaige gose up . i turn the lites off anf the engine lite gose off and the fuel gaige gose bak to normal.....oh and while im here i put 30 qwid in yesterday done 79 miles n its gone y is it useing so much fuel n e iders cheers

disconnecting the battery does NOT reset the ecu, i can promise you that
