The 1.2 8v engines

Post by amandhanji »

Corsa 1.2 8v engines have only 44 or 45 bhp but in the renault clio 1999 model its 1.2 8v model produces 60bhp. how does that work?

just depends how much work and development etc the manufacturor puts in to the engine.

if u look at the 1.2 16v and the 1.4 8v you'll see tht the 1.2 is a lot better.

or if u look at octanes 1.4 seat running 180bhp or something!!! AND ITS A 1.4!!!!
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.

Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

also consider this , renault engines are a really short stroke nearly oversquare and rev there tits off hence the reason why the bhp is up compared to a relatively long stroke engine its all basic really not rocket science

217hp and 265nm last time it was on the rollers hehe
(btw if your thinking the torque figgure is low thats because the 7 speed dsg only has a small clutch and really cant take anymore torque than that!)
altho it does only put out that much power on shell v power, its only around the 200 mark with regular unleaded

in anwsering the question tho, the 1.2 8v from the corsa was originaly from the E-drive model, this car only had 4 forwad gears and was designed purely for economy.
