lol i do my test this saturday so fingers crossed that i pass lol, what sort of insurance quote should i be looking at? they all seem expensive so far. i have been quoted like £2000 in and around that mark. is there anywhere that specialises in young drivers?

Re: My first car/Corsa B
Failed M.O.T the other day, my handbrake cable rear nearside and offside cable is frayed??? i tightened my handbrake up just before i went to the M.O.T centre and i didn't notice anything wrong lol, shows what i know... How much is it to replace the cables and is it easily done or should i just pay to get it fixed? I got a quote for £60 and thought that was expensive for all that it is.

i got mine for about 13 pound for both of them from dingbro when i worked in the garage. and i done them myself was peice of piss. but where the cable goes through the back plate theres a wee clip/plate it always breaks on everyone ive done lol. but you can either get a new one for each side before or try make something up.

Re: My first car/Corsa B
have to watch what your doing with it though as its tricky at bits. give yourself plenty time and greese the slide bit where the cable goes through on each side of the axle as thats were they get frayed at. and mind the split pins for the drums etc.
