hesitates acceleration

Post by Kezy Corsa »

my 1.4 8v sri sometimes plays around... at junctions the car sometimes hesitates and doesnt pull very well and then other times it goes like a bat!

it also smells of fuel now and again? i done the paperclip test and got error/fault code 25 which turns out to 25 Injector valve Low voltage

The EML comes on and goes off now and again.... Sometimes I get in the car and can drive 20minutes and it has been fine and other times I get in start the car up and it will be on straight away?

Seems very strange, As I said the 3 codes I get are

25 injector valve low voltage
29 fuel pump relay low voltage
71 air temperature sensor high voltage

seems confusing that one is high voltage the others are low voltage lol

remove the earth from the battery for a good hour to be safe to clear all codes then go out and wait untill it does it then read it again to get a accurate read out

I will give it a try shortly but I removed the earth for a while and cleaned the earth terminals up both ends and the bolt they goto

will go out and remove earth for a hour now and then take it for a little drive

EDIT: disconnected earth from battery 1:30pm

just reconnected the earth on the battery and took it for a quick drive 5-10 min no EML came on whilst driving and when i stopped i turned the car off waited a few minutes then started it again to see if it came on but went straight out after started the car up

floored it a little to see if it was any different under load but was also fine, pulled like a train from around 4k

do the c14se engines have a kind of powerband? like from 4k pulls a little harder? as it seems to pull hard at mid-high revs

will keep an eye on the EML tho and see if it comes back but so far so good :)

update - looks like it hasnt worked, just popped to the shops and as soon as i started the car the EML was on, when i got back i done the paperclip test and got fault code 29 fuel pump relay low voltage

EDIT: also there was a noise coming from engine bay when i done the paperclip test looked and it was from the first sensor on the engine i think its the ICV, unplugged it and it stopped plugged it back in and it carried on?

its the sensor above the inlet on the right near the bulkhead heres a pic for demonstration, sorry if i stole it from anyone on here but i got it from google images

the icv on the c16se are a dog for cacking up so i would pull it out and give it a clean out i do mine regular if all else fails i think there the same on the single point injection engines just pocket one from the scrappers

sometimes when 1 thing is playing up several codes will come up. i assume possible if code 29 comes up, 25 could follow that as its fuel related. check all earth wires for any damage/splits or peace of mine pop to local scrappy get a fuel relay, afm.

does it idle fine or rough?
