Hi, i have piper cams fitted in my 1400 16v ecotec engine, its running well below 1000rmp and sounds dog rough, think thats normal for a cammed engine, do i time the engine to the timing marks or dose it need to be timed different with high lift cams (fast road)

they need to be timed up differently. you can find the timing setting probably on the piper website or definitely by contacting them, what else have you done to your engine? as i believe you cant just run cams on they're own im sure on the 1400 and 1600 16v's you need to run verniers for a start but also a stand alone engine management system because your taking the lugs away from the end of the cam pulleys by putting the verniers on.

depends what cam it is and how agressive it is my c16 had a kent nvo52 and it ticked over horrid somtimes its just the nature of the cam and some need verniers and somedont it all depends on the cam
If its not bodged then its not "propper"
