Engine type

Post by natrajc »

The owners manual says it's an X14NE... Posting a couple of snaps so you can help identify the UK equivalent.. That would help me greatly in ordering off fleabay..ImageImage

C14ne
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

C14NE? Wouldn't that make it an 8 valve then? The manual says it's a 16.. Also, didn't find the C14NE on the FAQ section?

The c14ne isnt a popular engine, and if hadnt said ne id have said c14se,

The engine code will be stamped into the side of the block
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Okay, will have a look-see On the engine block in the morning.. But since it doesn't look anything like the picture above, I'm inclined to go with your diagnosis. You've always been right, plus the owners manual could be just a common one for all models.. Wouldn't be the first time I saw that happen.. :o
