As im going to stop buying mot\'s off my local pikey im gonna need some advice....will my car pass its mot if i get the door handle shaved??
Some people have told me it will because all you need to pass is some way of opening the doors from the outside...i.e a remote or button under the wing mirror....but i still dont know

Can\'t just have a remote, need some manual way of entering the car for it to pass MOT, so a button under the mirror like on TVR\'s would be ideal, or under a side skirt etc!

the law states you have to have a manual way of opening your door, that means its a gray area as its open to interpritation. a door button isnt really manual as its electrical, but at the same time it is manual in that u press it, all depends on the examiner you take the car to, ive looked into this. decided against it, as cant be arsed with hassle..... but you can aleays argue that tvrs have em

yeah i know some friendly examiners who care about important things like if you have a foot wells, etc.
problem is ive met some unfriendly policemen. by the way, it is illigal to remove your door pins, dunno why u would really, but just something ive heard

So if i was to put central locking, and buy a set of standard corsa door cards without the door pins in.... that would be illegal??

its been so long since ive had a corsa i cant remember if they have door pins or not, i know that if the doors lock the firebrigade have to have a way of unlocking them if they need to, some cars unlock when you pull the handle, and others unlock by pulling the pins up, depends on what system u have

So you wire a live (+to ignition) wire to the a button underneath the mirror so when the ignition is turned on you can always open the doors, and if you crash the fireman can rescue ya....i think
