FSE Power Boost Valve
Yes yes I\'m stupid and New I know
local friend of a friend is selling one,
I don\'t really wanna say \"cool .. What is it?\"
So I thought I\'d ask you first
I haven\'t got a clue what it could do!
take into account I have a 1.4 8 v SRI 1994) C14SE
at a guess i can\'t use it as I think it will be for a newer model engine,
but I just wondered then what it does
thank you oh guru\'s!

iirc basically it boosts your fuel pressure so you\'ll get better throttle responce and acceletation. i think there pretty much universal so it should fit.

It\'s just an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, which apprently will add slighly more fuel when the vacum is reduced (I.e you open the throttle) it\'s of no use to a std or virtually std engine.

get one!!
it cost me £100 for the boost valve and £85 to fit and tune it up on the rolling road
my car was really bad top end so i asked the guys at the rolling road place to make me get the best i can top end. it doesnt like low revs though, it kind of hiccups when your at 2000ish, but flies upto 6000
used to be able to 90 then my car would just stop, so far i have managed to get it to 105 no problem.
oh yeah and it gave me 13bhp more
need to post my sheet up to ill get that done tonight, my scanner was on the blink

It is a variable fuel pressure reg, the only reason you should need one is if the std one is dodgey.
If you thinking of putting cams in then you may fine you\'ll need one but I haven\'t heard of anyone needed one specifically.
The only time you really need on is if you need an adjustable fuel pressure reg, i.e TB\'s ot standalone management.
Otherwise it\'s a bit of a bodge really.
If you want an adjustable reg, get one off a XRi4 serirra or cossie (if you find one in the scrappy) remove ther plug and then you have a weber one which is much more reliable. and about £15
