this is what it says on the topbuzz website
Please note on newer ECU cars in the region of 2000 onwards, most now use ECU codes which can not be read out via the paper clip method. You will have to consult a ECU/fault code specialist or your nearest Vauxhall/Opel Dealer.
and ive done it on mine

im gutted, just seen this post only today after going for a diagnostic test this morning!!!
they told me it was the oxygen sensor(lamba) which in the fault code guide is 13
i just tried the paper clip test and it has told me exactly the same
could av saved £40

Good ol paper clip test.
I\'ve used it on my old Cav GSI and my 1998 Vectra...worked fine on that

is there a chance of blowing the ecu???? this is kind of stopping me shoving paperclips in to the socket

dont think so...i wouldnt have thought so mate...
if it blew your ecu then the real diagnostic tester would do the same as all you are doing is putting metal in the holes that the diagnostic tester will also do
