GSI spoilers

Post by neil-h »

right, i have a GM corsa GSI spoiler that i\'m fitting too my car. question is how is the black plastic mounting bracket fitted to the car (on the GSI/SRI etc)? as the section of the boot it attaches to is box sectioned and sealed.

damn, dont spoze u know anywhere i could get the tabs? i was thinkin bout putting some grease on the end of the bolts on the spoiler n touchin it down on the roof ???

also, because my car aint meant to have the spoiler it doesnt have the bolts for the mounting bracket welded to the roof so im going to use some short self tapping screws, do u think this would be ok? im kinda scared that i put the screw threw and it pierces the tube for the rear window skooshy...

lastly, i got the spoiler out the scappies n cut off a good length of the skooshy pipe for the spoiler, what would be the best way to join to join the current skooshy tubing and the tubing on the spoiler? i was thinkin some heavy insulation tape maybe...

cheers

skooshy, as in u \'skoosh\' ur windows with the washers ;)

sorry to disappoint but i\'m attachin the bracket with short self tapping screws and the plastic nuts i took off the original car with some no more nails tape around the edges...

unfortunately when i got the painted spoiler back from the bodyshop today they had broke off the two screw thread at the top of the spoiler which was nice so they said they will bond it on at the top once i have all the holes in place :)

so what would you recommend using to attach two ends of the back washer hose? loads of insulating tape?

also, what happened to use paint code faq on . simong? thot that was pretty good but cant find it anymore :(

well thats the bracket fitted perfect, just went with the self tappers and its fixed solid...just need to drill the two holes for the thread on the bottom of the spoiler and then get the top bonded coz of the stupid bodyshop...

the batch thing is weird, skooshy seems to make sense tho :P didnt puncture the rear skooshy hose btw, result :)

y dont u just use a pot rivet gun m8 they r cheep and easy to use all u got to do is drill your own holes m8 and as for drilling the holse all u got to do is get a spray bottle like a old winscreen cleaner bottle and put a bit of oil in it with a bit of water and shake it togethere and keep spraying it on while u use the drill works realy good m8 stops the drill from geting stuck and heating up
