Yeah. wondering what engines i'd be able to easily fit into my corsa b and have it make a big difference. An where to get em from en all if there's somewhere that specializes in selling just engines

Upgrade brakes and suspention 1st, dont even think about a 1.8 or 2l until then, Personally i'd get a 1600, and tune the nads out of it, 1600 with 150bhp isnt 2 hard to do.
If your really keen on a 2ltr you've gota buy a conversion kit, they are pricey, gotta find a red top worth putting in...... more trouble than its worth if you ask me tho

Yea 1600 in a corsa is all you need, the tunablity of the X16XE/C16XE makes the 2ltr pretty pointless, 1st thing to do is replace the standard inlet manifold as they are very very restrictive (get a dbilas rep of e-bay £180 or something) then you will be running around 120? They say more but they always do, get a screamin cam and Full exhaust system inc manifold and i guarantee you all the thrills of a 2ltr with all the fun of a 1600 BEAUTIFUL!!

Re: Bigger engine for my corsa
there is a small block 1.8 out of the vectra that will drop straight in. virtually the same power as the 1.6 but alot more torque. basicly a bored out version of the x16, and with a better head design. means you can use the smallblock boxes and your standard mounts etc.
plus its summit a bit rarer!

Yea you can get an X16XE lots of places, Heathrow engines (okay i know ive heard they are a load of pigeon pump but.......) should give you some idea of howmuch a re-build engine will cost. Other than that i'd try scrap yards, ebay, local papers. They stick the X16XE in loads of random stuff, Corsa GSI, Corsa Sport, Mk 3 Astra Sport, Mk 3 Astra estate, even just a regular Mk 3 astra 1.6 16v should be a X16XE i think?
Ive heard of these engines being tuned to near 200bhp. That 1800 idea does sound quite good, bit pointless though, if your going to stick a 1800 in it you might as well go 4 the red top, if your in 4 a penny u might as well be in 4 a pound??
The choice is yours!

Re: Bigger engine for my corsa
Thats a mint idea, i wish i had the time, space and money to do that, i used to have a x14 in my old tigra, they go well enough, good little engine!!
How come you wanna keep the 1400? there aint loads of difference between the standard 1600 & 1400, ive raced a few 16V SRI's and there aint much in it!!
