I just got a new exhaust back box fitted it's really heavy compared to the old one and mine does this after about an hour. Try the new rubber exhaust mounts, you can get them off Ebay for about £3 or so. Should stop the problem if not check the exhaust is fitted correctly because sometimes they can loosen and end up blowing. :D

i have a very old fashioned approach, it worked really well with a dash rattle i had a few months back........................ HIT IT WITH A HAMMER!!!!!! If that fails then i will try and think of something sensible for you like check it isn't blowing, seriously sometimes even the slightest gap or loose connector will make a wierd noise. Get it upp on ramps and run it to try and pin point the sound. Let me know how you get on :) 8)

your engine mounts are the rubber bushes that attatch the engine to the engine bay, you will have one on the left hand end of the engine (looking from front of car) one on the right attatched to the gear box, and one at the back of the engine sometimes one at front as well these are the ones that will cause trouble because although the ones either end hold the wieght of the engine the ones in front and behind stabalise it abd cushion all the driving loads,

if the engine mounts/stabilisers are worn then the engine can rock excessivly and causing the exhaust to move back and forth letting it knock against things, hope this helps clear things up for you.
