Astra GTE Digi Dash

Post by MattyB »

Hey all,

Anyone know how to wire an astra digi dash into a corsa which is electric driven rather than cable driven?

Do i still need to use the transducer which you need for the cable driven cars??

Any help gladly appreciated.

Cheers Matt

recently tried this along with jack (corsaboi) pritty easy to wire in, just colour to colour. as for the transducer, if you have the newer electric one u dont need change it. but not every thing on the dash works as it shud. mine didnt read correct fuel level, oil pressure level, the indecator lights are all over the place, u've got to adjust the mileage, and finally when spend loads of time and money on it and it dont work u wont be happy.

also key point most people that fit gte dashes hav redtop engines etc. in there car as well as the astra loom so they just plug straight it and dont really require any wiring. as for fitting them to a corsa, i've given up on mine and jack is still struggling on with his, its all easyier said than done.

hav a look in my project log theres a few pics in there.

hope this helps mate

Cheers for the info guys. Wonder why those bits don't work. Pretty important bits really. I read something about a resister you can put in. don't know if that works or not to solve those issues! There's gotta be something you can do to sort out those issues.

when u first wire them in according to the diagram as soon as u turn the ingnition on it buzz's constantly. so u wire it in the right way and its fine when i indecate normally, but when u have your head lights on and u indecate the both lights on the dash board flash as well as the high beam one and the headlight one. its all normal on the outside just goes mad on the inside though.

i aint 100% but i think it cud be a MOT failure

lol, thats really useful then if all the lights on dash start flashing. There's gotta be something that can be done to adjust that. there's got to be a way of somehow wiring them up so everything works correctly.

im good with electonics (got a b) and i tried for weeks to get mine to work. also the speedo's arent known for there accuracey. like i say 90% of people who fit these have the astra engine and loom already fitted so it just literaly plugs in.

theres a guy on mig web who is like the god of gte dash's he seriously knws his stuff..........seriously. when me and jack told him the problems we were having he didnt know wot to suggest.

i dont want to put u off. by all means try it.

yeah that was the thing that worried me, the speedo accuracy. i'm pretty handy with electrics aswell. i,ve wired from scratch, electric windows, electric and heated mirrors, central locking, alarm and rear 12v supply. i just can't see if it's wired correctly why it would do what it does. when you say the speedo is out, how much talking about?

simple it wasnt designed for a corsa. apparently the speedo can varey from car to car. most people that have problems with the speedo have problems because they use the wrong transducer. you are supposed to use the dash and the transducer from the same astra gte.

when i tryed the old style tranny it read 0mph all the time.

but my original electric one seemed to read alright

That'll be interesting. Yeah let me know how you get on. Have you sorted the dodgy indicator thing??

Well I have finally won one of these now. Is £41 plus £10 postage sound ok?

which bit do you mean? The electric windows, mirrors and central locking is fun. Have a look at my project log. (project panda) to see the job it was. My car didnt have the wiring at all so the interior came out, the dashboard came out and then wired it up. It wasn't majorly difficult. Took 3-5 days overall. Just gotta work out why the heated mirrors don't work.
