1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

i think if you are going to waste that sort of money on a fragile engine then i reckon its time you got your brain cell a bit of company as its getting a bit lost ,if it was worth doing dont you think tuning companies would do them already .at the end of the day that engine was origionally designed for a town runaround and will NEVER EVER win a traffic light grand prix .come on guys lets all start talking a bit of common sense as this post has turned into bulls++t

im not the most clued up i know a little but thats why i want to tune this corsa so i learn b4 i get a good car so i have the knowledge already then :)..gota start somewhere even if it is in a poo 1l, but i was thinkin would the 2L cavilier an old one coz you can pick them up for like 250-300 quid, i could use that but would i need to reinforce the subframe? and @bluecorsa, ive already got my 16" on them TCW's im lookin at the T1R toyo tyres, 195/45 there 250 fitted, the 1.4 idea i might go for tho tbh 1.4 16valve, can tune that decently enuff, im 17 n im gna get somethin nice at 19, can get on performance insurance then aswell.

tbh as everyone else has said ... if you managed to get 100bhp in a 1.2 12v the piston con rods would not take it ! you WILL blow the bottom of your engine apart ... there aint not question about it. You would need a better cooling system better exhaust and a fair few other bits.

You can get a redtop for £150 if you know where to look ... conversion kit £350 ... and then either buy a second hand exhaust or get someone like ... dare i say it .. powerflow to make you a custom one.

There perfetly legal .... providing you declair it .... one of my friends made the mistake of not telling insurance ... cops pulled him .. and he got his car crushed !

If you wana learn more about mechanics then yeah the 1.0 is a perfect tinkering toy .... there is also some good online e-courses that can teach you alot ... also howstuffworks.com has plenty of good articles on how a engine works and the machanics of a car.

Just think about it long and hard mate ... £500 is a fair bit of money ... no point in putting it in the drain !

I'm sure i've seen a turbo 1.0 12v on the internet pushing well over 100bhp. was in like spain or something, had the standard wheels and everything was hilarious.

However it would have to have forged everything, pistons, rods, valves, valve springs, engine balanced, and it would DEFINATELY have cost more the £500.

Can I make a suggestion... Leave the car as the f**k it is till ya can afford to stick a bigger engine it in.... You say ya don't wanna do a engine swap cause ya insurance will go sky high... But if ya do a them mods to ya little 1ltr then ya still got to declare it to the insurance company so insurance will still be sky high... And you'll have to replace ya engine afta a few weeks cause it won't be able to handle it.. Save up, get a year or two no claims... Then Get a bigger engine then do all ya crazy little bits to that.. If ya need a loan to buy a bigger engine and all the bits for that, how ya gonna insure it?
