Lexus Rear Light (wiring problem)

Post by carlcooper »

Hey guys, i have some Lexus rear lights which i bought ages ago but when i fitted them i couldnt get all the lights to work. I could have the rear lights on but when i broke they turned off. Seems everyting is a bit backwards.

I havent fitted them as its dangerous if a car is behind me at night!

Did anyone have the same problem and how did they fix it. Or does anyone why this might be happening?

Thanks Carl

Hi, There are lots of different types of aftermarket rear lamps so I don't know what type of bulb works each light(stop, tail, reverse). Having said that if a single filament bulb is fitted in a double filament socket (stop/tail light) then it will give a fault like what your describing. Hope this makes sense.

That makes sense, would anyone have a diagram or instructions for these?

What i will do over the weekend is write down exactly what goes wrong and get back to you.

thanks snowy ill look into it

sounds like you have single fillment bulbs in for your rear lights
for those type of lexus lights you need dual fillmant rear bulbs
12v 21/5W 380s i believe
sell em in most car shops, halfords and probably even petrol stations

if you have single fillamnet bulbs then when you brake with your lights on the bulb will go out as its reciving two live circuts

also worth checking you have plugged em in correctly (it should only be able to plug in one way but double check anyway)
