I think they are white and brown, they should be connected to your original speakers.
If you are putting 6x9's in the shelf then just cut off the black connecting bit and attach your new wires to each one.

I have just connected my 6x9's.
Found green and Green/brown connector with the left rear light cluster cables.
Found white and white/brown connector with the right rear light cluster cables.
Both needed the tape removed to expose the connectors.

When i did my rear speakers i found it easier to remove all of the plastic trim which covers the side of the boot. It just makes it easier to cut the tape and not struggle with your arm up a hole trying to find it.
