Best tyre size for 15inch wheels?

Post by DIB »

Got my self a set of 15 5 spoke tigra alloys for my corsa and wondered what's the best tyre size to use? It's been suggested I use 195/50 15 or 185/50 15. At the moment suspension is stock but will soon be lowered 40-60mm.

Any advice which would be best size? Or a different size to use?

Cheers.

195 50 15 is the best size for keeping the speedo right, looks the best imo aswell

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

195/45-15 on mine, I prefer them for the grip and on the corners they handle better imo

Thats 185/45/15s

The tigra alloys arent very wide are they? 185/50/15 would be your best bet imo

Yeah the wheels aren't very wide think 5.5 or 6 wide. The tyres they came with are 185/55 15 so maybe get away with that size again. Checked on tyre size calculator and its about 1.8-2.2mph difference at 70mph so its ok.

Have tired searching for 185/50 15 tyres but can't find anywhere that sells/lists them new for sale so far.

I've tried camskill as their quite cheap for tyres but it doesn't list a 50 profile tyre in 185 width.

185 50 isn't a common size so they'll be hard to come by, just get 195 50, it's the most tried and tested size for vaux alloys
