Corsa Alloy Nightmare

Post by Joely »

So here goes...

I put my car on coilovers recently and dropped it as far down as the springs would let me (with helpers on), this was all good as I had steel wheels on at the time.. Now I've got some cav slabs on, low profile tyres but it's still a squeeze... The problem I had was the inside of the tyre was catching on my coilover and rubbing away at the tyre. I then adjusted the spring strut so it sat just off the tyre but when doing this I had one wheel pointing out over while the other one was straight..?

So I then fiddled with the track rod end to try to align the wheels, this worked for about a day (with the tracking drastically out), but with more pointless fiddling I knocked the wheel back off worse than before. Now we've got the wheels aligned, the tracking well out and when I click full lock it tries to pull my wheels further round. I think that's because one side is longer with us screwing the track rod end out to straighten them up...

I took it into the garage to get the tracking sorted but they said it was too low and I should swap the wheels over and bring it back down. Hopefully I wont have the same problem again..

Any ideas?

That low? or Lower? with mine tht low on coilovers i put some camber bolts on front and gave it a slight touch of negative just to bring it away and same for the back but did the cheap washer trick
If its not bodged then its not "propper"
