well i got the generator out this aft, looks fine, so i'm tipping it'll be the same as you i'm now on my third cable ' £11 each vox wanted £63

finally cracked it! We had to send the cable along the same route as the cluch cable until we came directly above the hole in the gearbox for the sender.
then we had to change the route as the is alot of pipe & wiring forces the cable to be at a sharp angle hense the snapping. So we decided to thread the cable through without being attached to the sender and made sure there were no sharp angles in the cable. Then simply screwed it to the sender & reattached to the gear box. Done!
fingers crossed i did 30m yeasterday and its still working.
P.O.I this time i got the cable from Allwoods for £10 so you may not need to go the vox one
