All is okay now! iv finally fitted the MFD to my dashboard
if anyone else is wondering where the wires are that plug into the MFD unit, the connector is taped to the other wires that power the heater controls

Does the outside temp display work or you have to put one of them in as well?

Hi Leonjah90....did you get an MFD working in your car?
I just did mine today, I found the cable behind the heater control panel, it was taped up but I noticed the small black connector. It was just a simple matter of cutting the tape and running the cable through the hole above. I connected it to the MFD (which I got from a scrappies yesterday for £15....with a door mirror) and tested it before I put it all back together.
To my surprise it worked fine, although a bulb had blown, but that is no big issue. I still need to fit a temp sensor in the front bumper and there is also a wire needs removing from the plug to stop the date disappearing from the display when the stereo is on. The date disappearing is something that happens when you have aftermarket stereos fitted.
I have put it all back together and will change the bulb over and get a temp sensor at some stage in the near future.
Regards
Jase

Hi Jase
Yeah i got it working fine, after reading millions of instructions to fit one online, i managed to find the connector using a spanish manual lol
im not too fussed about the sensor, itt would be a depressing view everytime i look at it (living in cold old england)
Thats a question actually... my stereo doesnt seem to show up on the MFD screen, its not a standard vauxhall one, its a pioneer one. the cd player doesnt work unless the key is in and it resets itself everytime i turn it off (doesnt save my favorite stations when i turn it off).... do you think thats why its not coming up on the display.. because its not all wired up properly?

Your ignition and permanent live are probably the wrong way around, I believe it's the red and yellow wires you need to switch.leonjah90 wrote:my stereo doesnt seem to show up on the MFD screen, its not a standard vauxhall one, its a pioneer one. the cd player doesnt work unless the key is in and it resets itself everytime i turn it off (doesnt save my favorite stations when i turn it off)

Renren has got the problem spot on. Switch the red and yellow wires over so you have red into yellow and yellow into red. That'll solve the problem. You won't have the station name show up on your dash though as you loose this with an aftermarket stereo.
If anyone knows which wire it is that you have to cut to show the date in the MFD with an aftermarket stereo can you let me know?? I've been wanting to do that for ages! Didn't know you could cut a wire to make it work!
