I was offered quad recently so decided to check if my full bike licence would cover me found out it won't because i passed my test after 2001,
But and this is a big but

I discovered that quads trikes etc under 550kg with only one seat do not require a qualified driver to accompany you even though you drive it by car licence rules,
The only things you need are, provisional car licence, tax, m.o.t. and insurance, and so long as you are over 17 (or 16 if you are disabled) you can jump on a quad (or trike etc) without so much as even looking at the highway code book, and because its car rules you don't have engine size or top speed restrictions,
